How we review
Every number on AmpVerdict comes from a source you can check: a datasheet, a warranty document, a published lab test, a real quote or a utility rate plan. Here is exactly how we work.
Where the numbers come from
- Manufacturer datasheets and manuals: rated versus usable capacity, inverter limits, surge ratings.
- Warranty documents: cycles, energy throughput, transferability and the exclusions buried in the fine print.
- Published third-party lab tests, where they exist, always cited.
- Current street and installed pricing, tracked over time, not launch-day MSRP.
- Owner reports from forums and long-term reviews, weighed against the spec claims.
- Real utility rate plans, which power the calculators you can run on your own bill.
What every review must include
- Usable capacity as the manufacturer defines it, not the marketing headline.
- Continuous and surge power with the source for each number.
- Warranty terms translated into plain English.
- A realistic installed cost range, not just the sticker price.
- What we could not verify, flagged as exactly that.
What we do not do
We do not invent measurements. If we have not put our own meter on a product, we do not claim we did. When we publish hands-on data in the future, it will be labelled as ours, with photos and method attached.
How we make money
Some links are affiliate links and some pages send quote requests to installers. That revenue never changes a conclusion. We say plainly what we verified and what we only cite.
